St Lukes Tree

Because of the special nature of the children in this school, we wanted a tree which would be soft at person height - so we made this.
The pupils all helped to texture the clay, and put the under-glazes on too. The school fired the pieces in their kiln.
We then took them all away and put in the background, using carpet for the land, and velcro-backing for the sky.
The result is a stunning feature for the main entrance, which the pupils can make things for - witness the rather creepy spider, held on with velcro!
