The Fisher of Dreams is the result of a large community consultation process. A group of local people decided to get the funds for a sculpture on the bridge over the Ouse which the flying scotsman used - it's now a Sustrans footpath.
Consultation Workshops were held on the bridge and people were asked for themes. From these several models were made (the committee came and made them in our workshops) and these were exhibited in the local shops, doctor's surgery, post-office etc for people to vote on the one they wanted.
The fisher won.
He is huge! Erecting him took 2 days, an army of volunteers, sleeping on site in the back of the backie for security, and the hire of a crane.
But all worth it
and note... he's caught the flying scotsman!
